Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Enable Copy Everywhere Chrome extension (the “Extension”) and the https://allowrightclick.com website (the “Website”) collect, how that information is used (handled), how and where it is stored and retained, and with whom it is shared. In this policy “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the developer of Enable Copy Everywhere.
1. Summary
- The Extension does not collect personal information and does not transmit any data off your device.
- The only data the Extension stores is your per-site on/off preference, saved locally in your own browser.
- The Website uses Google Analytics to measure aggregate traffic; this sets cookies and shares limited, non-identifying usage data with Google.
- We do not sell or rent user data, and we do not use it for advertising.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 The Extension
The Extension does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal or sensitive user data. In particular, it does not collect:
- Personally identifiable information (name, email address, phone number, etc.)
- Your browsing history or the URLs you visit
- The content of the web pages you view
- Authentication, financial, or health information
- Keystrokes, form inputs, clicks, or mouse movements
The only information the Extension stores is a small, non-personal setting: whether you have enabled or disabled the Extension for a given website domain.
2.2 The Website
When you visit https://allowrightclick.com, we use Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to understand aggregate, non-identifying traffic. Google Analytics may collect:
- Pages you view on the Website and time spent on them
- The referring website or search terms that led you here
- Approximate geographic location (country / city) derived from your IP address
- Device, browser type, operating system, and screen size
- A randomly-generated identifier stored in cookies to distinguish repeat visits
We do not use this information to identify individual visitors, and we never combine it with any data from the Extension.
3. How We Use Data (Handling)
- Extension setting: used solely to remember, on your device, whether to activate copy / right-click restoration on each site you choose.
- Website analytics: used only in aggregate to measure how many people visit the Website, which pages are popular, and to improve the site and documentation.
We do not use any data for profiling, advertising, or automated decision-making, and we do not attempt to re-identify anonymised analytics data.
4. Data Storage & Retention
- Extension setting: stored locally in your browser via the Chrome
storageAPI (chrome.storage.local). It stays on your device, is never uploaded to us or any server, and is removed when you clear it, turn it off, or uninstall the Extension. - Website analytics: processed and stored by Google on Google's infrastructure under Google's terms. Analytics cookies typically expire within 24 months, and aggregate report data is retained for 14 months, after which Google deletes it.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
The Extension shares no data with anyone — it collects none and makes no network requests.
For the Website, the only third party that receives data is:
- Google LLC (Google Analytics) — receives the aggregate usage data described in Section 2.2. See Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Analytics Opt-out.
We do not sell, rent, or trade user data, and we do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information only where required to do so by law (for example, in response to a valid legal request).
6. Chrome Extension Permissions
The Extension requests only the permissions needed to remove copy and right-click restrictions on the page you are viewing:
- activeTab / scripting: to run the restriction-removal logic on the current page when you activate the Extension.
- storage: to save your per-site enabled / disabled preference locally.
- host access to the sites you activate it on: to modify that page's scripts and CSS so copy and right-click work again.
These permissions are used only for the stated functionality and never to read, collect, or transmit your data.
7. Cookies
The Extension sets no cookies. The Website sets cookies only through Google Analytics, as described above. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out linked in Section 5.
8. Your Choices & Data Deletion
- Remove the Extension's stored setting at any time by clearing its storage or uninstalling it from
chrome://extensions. - Opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on linked in Section 5, or by blocking analytics cookies.
- For any request regarding your data, contact us (Section 11).
9. Children's Privacy
The Extension and Website are general-purpose tools not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
